RogueBlock V0.3.0 update!

SUMMARY & CONTEXT

The main thing introduced in this update are events: Special encounters with characters/creatures/things, that you can come across as you explore. These encounters can give you opportunities to increase your stats, obtain or trade relics, learn new abilities, heal, etc.

EVENTS

  • Added 10 types of events.
  • Each run, 3 events can be encountered.
    • The same event cannot be encountered twice in one run.
    • Some events can only be encountered under special conditions

ENEMIES

  • Introduced 2 new normal (non-boss) pumpkin based enemies.
  • Now that there are more different types of normal enemies, you will no longer encounter 2 of each type each run.

  • Slightly nerfed HP of Piranha enemy.

GAMEPLAY

CDR -> HST

Changed the CDR (Cooldown Reduction) stat to HST (Haste).

  • Before: reduced_cd = base_cd * (100 - CDR)
  • Now: reduced_cd = base_cd * 10 / (10 + HST)

Stat rewards give 2 HST (before: 10 CDR). This means that, for both CDR and HST, after 5 rewards, the cooldowns of your abilities are halved. See the graph at the end of the patch notes for a more detailed comparison.

HST has the following advantages over CDR:

  • Early rewards are more impactful.
  • There is no longer a cap on how much of this stat you can have (CDR can’t go past 100%).
  • With CDR, you could get to 100% reduced cooldowns, which can have weird interactions.

Other

  • There is no longer a limit to the number of relics you can have.
  • You now have the option to skip rewards.
  • Since you can now learn new abilities while you already have 3, it is now possible to replace abilities.

RELICS & ABILITIES

  • Removed “Sapshroom” relic. Now appears as an event relic with a different effect.
  • Added 6 new relics
  • Added 1 new (event-only) ability
  • Nerfs / buffs / changes
    • Ceramic Vase: Now grants 0.5 ERG while you have a shield (from 0.1 ERG per expired shield this combat)
    • Lightbulb: effect split into 2 relics:
      • Lightbulb: Restores 10% of your MEP when you hit an enemy with a charged bullet
      • Clock: Reduces remaining cooldowns of your abilities by 20% when you hit an enemy with a charged bullet

VISUAL CHANGES

  • The game will now show notifications in the bottom-right corner for when you:
    • gain/lose stats
    • gain/lose an ability/relic

  • Added STAT icons to reward popup sceen / pause menu

  • Minimap now shows additional icons for:
    • Your location (in addition to yellow outline)
    • Unfought enemies
    • Unopened chests
    • Unfinished events

  • Added more objects that can appear in locations, for more variety.
  • Added new VFX for when the shark tooth relic activates
